Threar is one of the children of Fiver and Vilthuril. Like his father, Fiver; he is also a seer. He was probably named after the Threarah, the Chief Rabbit of Sandleford Warren.

Threar appears in the penultimate chapter of the book, being told a story by his mother along with his siblings. When Hazel comes, the kittens jump at him, shouting, "Hazel-rah! Hazel-rah!" He predicts that a horseman will come and is mentioned to have told his mother what a river looked like, despite having only seen one in his dreams.
