The Easy Life is the third episode of Season 1.
Plot[]
Holly has a nightmare of Sandleford and the owl chasing him, Fiver wakes him up, saying it's alright. Holly says they have to go get Pimpernel with Fiver saying when he's better. Hazel says Holly was lucky to have escaped the warren being destroyed by man, Bigwig says they have Fiver to thank but he's not always right. Fiver comes and says he never said he was, startling Bigwig. He asks how Holly is and Fiver says that he wants to go get Pimpernel.
Fiver denies Bigwig saying the warren's safe. Hazel asks if Bigwig's trying to get out of digging and he denies. Hawkbit calls digging complicated.
When Blackberry asks who digs first, Pipkin, Dandelion and Hawkbit all point at each other, Blackberry chooses Hawkbit to dig and tells him to remember what he learned. Kehaar says that he's trying to rest, Dandelion, Hawkbit and Pipkin try to go but Hazel denies, saying that it'll just be him, Fiver and Bigwig. Hawkbit sarcastically replies. While leaving the Down, Holly says he's coming but Hazel denies.
Holly says he's sure he's up for this and asks who's in charge anyway. No one replied and they began their search of Pimpernel. Holly takes Hazel, Fiver and Bigwig to travel to a nearby warren believed to be a place of safety. This warren led by Cowslip. The warren has carefree rabbits and they're all fat and healthy. Bigwig suggests they join the other warren if it's that good.
Fiver tells Holly that something about Cowslip bothers him, Holly denies and Hazel says "With Fiver you don't have to" and Holly replied, saying Cowslip seemed off and they all did. Fiver asks as if they were lost and Holly agreed, asking how he knows that. Bigwig calls whatever Fiver gets "feelings". Hazel asks if somethings wrong to Fiver and he denied.
Fiver says that he doesn't like the warren much after Holly explained who the two bucks at the entrance eating carrots were, Holly tells Fiver to show them what he knows and that these rabbits have a life in the warren. It began to rain. After Cowslip and Strawberry see Hazel, Fiver, Bigwig and Holly, they greet them. Hazel asks what's wrong with them and Holly says it's a thing they do when they meet. Holly says that they came for Pimpernel, Cowslip tells them to come inside, out of the rain. Everyone but Fiver go in. Hazel pushes Fiver in, saying he thinks they're harmless.
Fiver calls the warren a cold that never ends. And asks if Hazel can smell it, Hazel says he smells nothing, and that it'll be fine and things will be fine in the morning. Fiver says that dawn feels like it'll be a long way away before following his brother down the tunnel.
Cowslip shows the four around. Fiver begins to fear their eyes and all of them. Hazel asks what is wrong with Fiver as he backs into a wall in fear. Holly says it sure is something and Bigwig replies saying it'll fit them if they move in. Hazel says they smell outrageously healthy, Bigwig suggests they eat like El-ahrairah, a buck named Strawberry agrees, saying they do and that they'll see.
Strawberry then bows, asking if they'd care to see the rest of the warren. Hazel awkwardly replies saying he'd be delighted while bowing his head, while Strawberry started to show them around, Hazel shrugged to Bigwig. Fiver was still in the corner, afraid.
When Bigwig asks Cowslip about Pimpernel, he switched the topic and talks about the roots looking like Ivy with Bigwig agreeing. Cowslip glares at Fiver with a creepy smile. Meanwhile, Strawberry shows Hazel around. Hazel looks at a wall and remarks that it looks man-built. Strawberry agreed, saying the ones digging the warren found it pleasing and decided to keep it. Strawberry then shows Hazel rocks and calls it the figure of El-ahrairah after Hazel thinks it's made from man.
Strawberry appears to be sad when talking about just having all the time in the world.
Meanwhile, back at the Down, Hawkbit is complaining about what Dandelion said about having "all the time in the world" while in a poorly built burrow and Dandelion admits defeat. Blackberry asks how everyone is and Hawkbit sarcastically replied, saying there's enough rain for everyone. Blackberry laughs and apologizes before remarking what Hawkbit said about bucks not digging. Water falls onto Hawkbit and Dandelion says they're having a rethink
Bigwig wonders how it's like back at Watership Down while eating flay-rah. Cowslip goes to the two and asks if he wants anything else, Holly says he's stuffed, Bigwig says Cowslip had a good idea keeping flay-rah down in the burrows, but asks how he got it all down and where it all came from with Cowslip responding tomorrow they'll see.
Fiver tells Bigwig they have to get out now. Fiver has another vision and Bigwig gets mad at him.
Cowslip started to talk about them having a poem told by a rabbit called Silverweed. Strawberry tells Hazel that he is in for a treat and Silverweed began to tell his poem. Hazel goes to Fiver as he started having another vision, calling them all like autumn.
Getting scared enough, Fiver began to run out the warren. Hazel apologizes for Fiver and goes after him. So does Bigwig. Fiver explains what's happening. Fiver calls it safer outside. Hazel and Bigwig go inside the warren, Hazel believes Fiver won't stay out long in the rain but he ends up sleeping all night.
A fox starts to come near Fiver, waking him in fear. But a man shoots the fox, waking Bigwig, Holly and Hazel. Cowslip tells them not to worry and that the man has just killed it. Hazel notices Fiver's still outside and goes to him. Fiver begs Hazel to come home. Hazel denies, Fiver says Pimpernel's dead but Hazel ignores. In silflay, Strawberry asks how life is at the Down, he acknowledges Bigwig's response and calls him lucky. Hazel asks Cowslip where he has got all this flay-rah.
Cowslip replies, saying man, and tells Hazel with the longer the lot stay, the more they'll forget all about the hard times. Hazel says they won't stay and will leave once finding Pimpernel just to get cut off by Cowslip, avoiding the topic of Pimpernel. That's a bit suspicious, isn't it? Hazel gives a carrot to Fiver, Fiver yells that everything's wrong about Cowslip's warren; The food! This place! Those rabbits!
Bigwig mocks Fiver. Holly says he looked everywhere for Pimpernel and there's not a sniff of him! Everyone's also avoiding the topic of Pimpernel. Hazel calls that strange, Bigwig says he's staying with Cowslip and runs into a bush...
The warren is too good to be true, and it is! As after jumping into the bush, Bigwig gets himself caught in a snare wire trap! Bigwig begs for help, Hazel orders Holly to get back to the burrow and get Cowslip. Holly yells at Cowslip for denying Bigwig ever existed, calling him and his warren mad. Bigwig nearly dies in the snare wire trap until Fiver and Hazel save him. Strawberry's yelled at by Holly for not coming
Bigwig and Cowslip fight, Cowslip backs into the Shining Wire warren, calling El-ahrairah a lie, the man takes care of them and that they don't need the "freedom" of the hills. When Hazel says the snares will get him if he doesn't leave, Cowslip replies saying; "It won't get me, maybe others, but never me!" Before laughing like a maniac.
Hazel and his group flee. Strawberry considers Hazel's words and comes to join Hazel and the others, as he is done with fearing death at Cowslip's warren, he says there is no life in the warren of the Shining Wires and begs. Hazel, Holly, Fiver and Bigwig let him come to the freedom of the high hills.
The lot climb up the Down, Kehaar is now healed. Strawberry is now home.
