Two stoats attacked General Woundwort's army as they went to invade Watership Down, but Woundwort fought them off, insisting "stoats aren't dangerous."
In Tales from Watership Down, Kehaar defends the Watership Down rabbits from a stoat when they go to scout out the site intended to build the Vleflain warren. Groundsel expresses worry about living in a place "crawling with stoats," but agrees to the location. Later, Vleflain is indeed attacked by stoats, but the former hutch rabbit Stonecrop frightens them off because he smells like humans.
TV series[]
In the second season's tenth episode, The Mysterious Visitors, a stoat attacked Pipkin on a cliff, before being distracted by Kehaar. Pipkin managed to escape by leaping off the cliff and onto a bed of moss, heather and softgrass piled under him by Hazel and the others.
Several weasels that appear in the third season of the series also appear to be stoats because of their black tail tips.
