Scabious is Clover and Holly's son. He was part of the first litter to be born on Watership Down.

History

Watership Down

Scabious, along with his siblings, was born the same evening that General Woundwort came to attack Watership Down. He is seen and named in the end of the book, training with his two unnamed brothers and Bigwig. Bigwig was pretending to be a cat, but Scabious didn't know what a cat looked like, and he wasn't sure what to do.

Tales from Watership Down

Scabious appears in the chapter "The Rabbit's Ghost Story." Blackavar takes him and Threar on a training raid to the garden of Ladle Hill House, where they encounter a mysterious figure. Blackavar is certain it is only a hare, though Scabious is convinced that it is the ghost of General Woundwort. Hazel tries to comfort Scabious and assure him that there was no ghost. However, Coltsfoot then speaks up and tells his story about his own experience with a ghost.
