Melsa is a doe of the Watership Down Warren. She is a descendant of Clover and the mother of Sandwort. She appears in Tales from Watership Down during chapter 17 - Sandwort. This also means Melsa is probably a descendant of Captain Holly as well, although it is not impossible Clover had another mate.

Tales from Watership Down[]
Melsa appears in Tales from Watership Down during chapter 17 - Sandwort. One day, Silver advises that she keep an eye on her son, Sandwort, telling her that he was insolent to him that morning, and Silver had had to cuff him on the head. Melsa responds that she can't do anything with him, as Sandwort has no respect for her or any other rabbit. She believes this is because of his strength and size for his age, and this has caused many of the younger rabbits to admire him as a sort of leader. Silver asks her to tell Sandwort to think a bit less of himself before he gets on the wrong side of Hazel, Bigwig, or even himself for that matter.
Silver is noted to like Melsa, and so he leaves it at that. Melsa isn't mentioned for the rest of the chapter.
