Heather is a doe from Efrafa that appears in the third season of the Watership Down TV series and eventually becomes the mate of Moss.
Personality[]
Before properly meeting Moss, Heather was sarcastic, snarky, cold, and untrusting towards him, though eventually she decided to trust him. She seems to be rather bold, attempting to seduce an Owsla buck into helping her escape. She is also intelligent and advises Moss on multiple occasions.
Background[]
She was not born in Efrafa, as she mentions that she is from "a little hole in the middle of nowhere." She has tried to escape from Efrafa multiple times.
TV series[]
The Last Battle[]
Heather is approached by Moss for help in starting a revolution. Heather is initially cold towards him, not trusting him because he is an Efrafan officer. Later, she is seen attempting to seduce an Owsla buck into helping her escape, but this does not amount to anything. Moss meets with her again and explains that he is helping the slaves escape in memory of Campion, and at this Heather begins to trust him and agrees to stand with him in the rebellion.
During the battle of Efrafa, she and the other Efrafan slaves run out of Efrafa, shouting "Freedom!"
A New World[]
After the defeat of General Woundwort and fall of Efrafa, Heather comes to live in Watership Down together with other Efrafan survivors. Hawkbit and Dandelion both flirt with her and begin to fight over her. Heather and Clover discuss the two bucks' quarrel; when Clover asks who'd she pick, Heather replies that she'd pick the stronger buck because "there was no room for love in Efrafa." Clover notices Heather gazing at Moss and tells her that there is room for love on Watership Down. Heather then goes over to talk to Moss.
When Moss proposes to take the Efrafan refugees to found a new warren with an elected leader, Heather is the first to support him. She reassures him when, to his surprise, he is immediately elected as chief. She leaves with Moss and the rest of Efrafans to form their own warren. When Hawkbit and Dandelion express confusion, Clover informs them that Heather has already chosen Moss as her mate.
