In the novel,
In the TV series, Dandelion and Hawkbit are good friends as they usually mess around together, however, they do fight. As seen when they both fight for a doe with Hawkbit biting Dandelions tail. But they also work together as seen where Dandelion, Hawkbit and Strawberry go and trap Bigwig in his burrow to prevent going on night-patrol.
In the miniseries, they continue fighting for a doe, this time, Strawberry who was a buck in the other adaptations. Unlike the TV series, the two bucks go as far as to attacking each other and Hawkbit claiming Dandelion has the white-blindness.
