Originally intended to spy, Spartina at first, pretended to love Bigwig. But after a while, her feelings turn real but Bigwig instantly loses his feelings after Spartina's revealed to be a spy. She confirms she was a spy and due to her growing feelings for Bigwig, decide to save Campion and Blackberry from Darkhaven.
After she, Campion and Blackberry return to the Down from Darkhaven and the final battle is happening, Spartina kicks a Darkhaven warrior, saying it was for Bigwig.
When Bigwig returns to the Down alive, Spartina is seen overjoyed. It's implied heavily they're mates.
